Schools Work
Thrive Leeds connect with local schools in a range of ways and look forĀ opportunities to encourage young people of their value and increase theirĀ confidence.
Our secondary schools work includes small groups and mentoring, with a focusĀ on Year 7 girls at Carr Manor Community school. We support young people as theyĀ transition into high school and give space for creativity, reflection and encouragement.
We have found that these groups build confidence and connection, and the youngĀ people have shared that taking part:
- Encouraged self esteem: “Helped me with myĀ confidence”
- Developed friendships: “Get to know eachĀ other”
- Developed individuals: “I can be kind”,Ā “I can encourage people”, āI didnāt realise I was kind untilĀ someone told me I wasā
- Meant something: “I will miss this group”
Our primary school work includes assemblies exploring themes from Bible stories, Christian festivals and how we can live positive lives. We also run prayer rooms and doĀ transition work with Year 6s, as they prepare for High School.

This work has been supported by a Magic Little Grant through the partnership between Localgiving and Postcode Neighbourhood Trust. Postcode Neighbourhood Trust is a grant-giving charity funded by players of Peopleās Postcode Lottery. Localgiving is the UKās leading membership and support network for local charities and community groups. Our project received Ā£500 to support our transition work for Year 6s moving into Year 7.
